ROK Cup Festival - Race report

ROK Cup Festival | 03 Dic 2025

The ROK Cup Festival took the Vortex single-brand show back to the Franciacorta Karting Track, where the seven categories competed for the last title of the 2025 season in a weekend full of pressure. At the end of Sunday, the following drivers were crowned champions: Giovanni Ventorino (Mini ROK U10), Filippo Frigerio (Mini ROK), Adrian Potepa (Junior ROK), Riccardo Salemi (Senior ROK), Marco Massironi (Expert ROK), Federico Zanetti (Super ROK) and Matteo Mazzucchelli (Shifter ROK).

Mini ROK U10

ROK Cup Festival’s title reserved for the Mini ROK U10 category is defined in the final meters of the final, only.

During the Saturday's qualifying heats, Adam Diaconu gains the pole position. The Romanian driver, with a time of 58.052 seconds, finishes just 0.029 seconds ahead of Samuel Dal Pozzo, in second place. Natan Lukas is third, 0.077 seconds behind Diaconu, ahead of Edoardo Traina in fourth place and Mikhail Zanochkin in fifth. Bryan Distaso is sixth, followed by Radoslaw Czernicki in seventh, Gabriel Mara Varon in eighth, Ludovico Maitetti in ninth, and Ryszard Kocik in tenth. The ranking goes on with Nikita Bortov, Raoul Capuozzo, Giovanni Ventorino, Alessandro Puppo, Antonio Martin, Piotr Mikolajczyk, Leonardo Missiato, Andrea Baraggi, Stefano Sapuppo, Nicolò Zagatti, Gaspard Fauchet, Ksawery Lukas, Leo Sawicki, Stanislaw Antczak, Jakub Mizera, Francesco Fontanella, Antoni Skwarek and Nicolaj Pietras.

Everything changes at the end of the qualifying heats: also thanks to a retirement in the first heat, Diaconu slips to 16th place, leaving Dal Pozzo, who scores a victory, at the top of the standings. Czernicki moves up to second place, while Capuozzo and Bortov enter the top 10, in third and fourth place, respectively. Ventorino wins the first heat and moves up to fifth place. Despite his success in the second heat, Lukas drops back to sixth place. The standing also includes Mara Varon, Traina, Maietti, and Zanochkin.

During the final, Dal Pozzo remains at the lead after the start, but a brilliant Ventorino overtakes him in the first few corners. Shortly before the end of the opening lap, however, the pole sitter regains the lead. From that moment on, the two engage in a close battle, alternating several times at the top. On the last lap, Ventorino performs his decisive move: he passes Dal Pozzo, closes every gap and wins running fast to the finish line, with a lead of just 0.045 seconds over his compatriot. Pietras recovers nine positions and takes the third place, ahead of Traina in fourth. Martin is fifth, followed by Capuozzo, Bortov and Zanochkin. Lukas, on the other hand, does not attend the Sunday afternoon's race.

Mini ROK

It is a hard-fought final for the Mini ROK drivers at Franciacorta.

Filippo Frigerio is ahead of the group at the end of Saturday's qualifying session. The Italian sets the fastest time of 56.743, ahead of Edoardo Galimberti in second and Melyann Bellini in third position. Riccardo Gileppa gains the fourth place, ahead of Nathan Lotrionte in fifth, Stefano Bellopede in sixth, Thomas Ometto in seventh, and Aleksander Pelikanski in eighth. Dominik Wojcik and Lola Mukhammadiyev complete the top 10, while Angelo Stuppia, Francesco Sarzina, and Nicholas Bertolani follow in the next positions.

Frigerio is able to keep the lead even after the qualifying heats, thanks to a flawless performance with three wins in the three races scheduled. Behind him is Pelikanski, now the Italian's closest rival, who overtakes Lotrionte, Bellini, and Ometto, respectively third, fourth, and fifth. Mukhammadiyev takes sixth place ahead of Wojcik; followed by Galimberti, who drops to eighth place, Bellopede, and Stuppia. Bertolani, Gileppa, and Sarzina complete the starting grid for the final.

In the decisive race of the weekend, Frigerio jumps from a perfect start and immediately takes the race control, while Lotrionte and Ometto manage to run ahead of Pelikanski. The fight for victory quickly becomes of the three Italian drivers, who keep close together throughout the race with Frigerio firmly in the lead. On the last lap, the leader ends every attempt performed by his rivals to attack and crosses the finish line first. Ometto, on the other hand, surprises Lotrionte and takes the second place. Pelikanski finishes fourth, with Galimberti completing the top five.

Junior ROK

The Junior ROK weekend ends with a twist in the Sunday afternoon's final.

Saturday begins with Leonardo De Grandi taking the pole position. The Italian driver, with a time of 50.041 seconds set in group 1, beats Iven Ammann, the fastest in group 2 and second in the combined standings. Patrick Bissa secures the third place, ahead of Emma Boschetto in fourth, Kacper Kluk in fifth and Adrian Potepa in sixth. Matteo Peruccio, David Moscardi, Mariachiara Nardelli and Tommaso Pomoni complete the top 10. Borys Blaszczyk, Natan Rybczynski, Karol Kostur, Tommaso Mottarelli, Stanislaw Grabowski, Alessandro Cereda, Michal Zajac, Matteo Infantino, Nicolò Poli, Vasco De Vito, Zachary Ibbotson, Andrea Screpis, Ilias Mitaki, Gabriele Giribaldi, Ilia Cotorobai, Simone Seveso, Francesca Pietrini, Enzo Stambaugh, Mia Zanki, Mateusz Perel, Mirko Graziani, Tommaso Scarato, Alessandro Gorini, Manuel Ranica, Jan Perel, Serban Vizitiu, Jose Daniele Di Blasio, Lena Pichler and Leonard Wcislo.

Bissa jumps from the qualifying heats with an impeccable trio of victories. The Italian driver thus takes the lead in the intermediate standings, followed by Potepa, who moves up to second place, and De Grandi, who drops to third. Moscardi is fourth, ahead of Peruccio and Boschetto, fifth and sixth respectively. Rybczynski, Kostur, Mottarelli, and Zajac complete the top 10, with Kluk and Ammann just outside.

In the final, Bissa performs a good start and, in the first few meters, immediately manages to gain a good lead over the rivals behind, group consisting of De Grandi, Potepa, and Moscardi. However, his lead vanishes at the end of the sixth lap, when the three driver take him again and involves him in a battle, with De Grandi taking the lead. From then on, the four drivers start a intense battle, full of overtakings and counter-overtakings. On the last lap, De Grandi takes the lead, but a mistake on the last corner costs him dearly: Potepa takes advantage of this and runs to take the victory while Bissa gains the second place, just ahead of De Grandi, in third. Moscardi finishes just off the podium in fourth place.

Senior ROK

Strong competition for the lead in the Senior ROK class, right from the start.

Giovanni Polato dominated the Saturday's qualifying session with a best time of 48.146 seconds. Oskar Hildebranski finished second, ahead of Anh Tu Ranghetti in third and Tomasz Cichoracki in fourth. Riccardo Cirelli and Riccardo Salemi are fifth and sixth respectively, followed by Leonardo Monzani and Nik Sculac, in seventh and eighth. The top 10 is completed by Michal Czyzewicz in ninth and Andrea Sorbello in tenth. At the start we also find Francesco Koci, Marlon Di Salvo, Dorian Malek, Lorenzo Pignanelli, Colin Wazny, Lorenzo Poletti, Tommaso Arlati, Denis Iepure, Jakub Kazana, and Kacper Turoboyski.

The standings change completely at the end of the qualifying heats. With two wins and a fifth place, Monzani jumps from the seventh position to the lead, followed by Ranghetti and Salemi, who move up to second and third place, respectively. Turoboyski makes a remarkable comeback to fourth place after finishing the qualifyings in the last position. Sculac, Cichoracki, Di Salvo, and Wazny occupy the following places, while Hildebranski drops back to ninth. Cirelli is tenth, just ahead of the pole sitter of the qualifyings, Polato, now eleventh.

In the final, Monzani makes the most of his pole position and immediately takes the lead, closely followed by Salemi, Sculac and Di Salvo. On the third lap, however, he loses the lead to Salemi and, in a difficult moment, is also forced to defend himself from Sculac's attack; the latter, in an attempt to strike, is then overtaken by Hildebranski. The driver who takes advantage of the battle behind him, is Salemi who gains a few precious tenths of a second and, despite Monzani's attempt to catch up in the second half of the race, manages the situation until the checkered flag. Monzani thus crosses the finish line in second place, but a three-second penalty for a previous collision relegates him to fourth place, behind Hildebranski and Cichoracki, both on the podium. Cirelli is fifth, followed by Sculac, Polato, and Di Salvo. Turoboyski retires.

Expert ROK

Expert ROK is the unfaltering category at the ROK Cup Festival in Franciacorta.

Marco Massironi leads the pack in the single qualifying session. With a time of 49.236 seconds, the Italian is ahead of Alessandro Viganò, second place and Paolo Baselli, running in third. Daniel Zajac is fourth, ahead of Marcel Nowak in fifth and Andrea Monaci in sixth. Stefano Turchetto, seventh, finishes ahead of Tino Donadei, eighth, while Marco Nannavecchia and Luca Molinari complete the overall standings.

Massironi confirms his lead in the qualifying heats as well, winning three out of three races. The Italian remains firmly in the lead of the intermediate standings, followed this time by Nowak as his closest rival. Viganò moves up to third place, with Zajac fourth, Monaci fifth, Nannavecchia sixth, Turchetto seventh, and Donadei eighth. Baselli dropsd from third to ninth place, ahead of only Molinari in tenth.

In the final, Massironi takes the lead without any concern and maintains his lead, while Nowak and Zajac settle in behind him. On the third lap, Zajac overtakes the Polish driver and moves into second place, at the same time allowing Viganò to overtake him for third place. Taking advantage of the battle between his rivals, Massironi pulls further ahead and, with a solid and perfect performance, takes the victory. Zajac and Viganò complete the podium. Nowak is fourth, followed by Baselli. Monaci, Nannavecchia, Turchetto, and Molinari close the order at the finish line.

Super ROK

The Super ROK, the highest-performing single-speed category in the ROK Cup, also attends the event.

Federico Zanetti stands out from the rest of the group in the qualifyings, setting the pole position with a time of 47.430. Edoardo Prioglio follows his compatriot in second place, while Simone Donchi takes the third. Matteo Lazzarotto ranks fourth, ahead of Nicholas Giuseppe Reino in fifth and Aleksandar Bogunovic in sixth. Luca Luongo takes the seventh place.

The standings remain virtually unchanged after the qualifying heats. Zanetti scores three wins and remains at the top of the category, with Prioglio still in second place and Donchi in third. Bogunovic and Luongo run in fourth and fifth place respectively, relegating Reino and Lazzarotto to sixth and seventh place.

In the final, Zanetti jumps to a perfect start and immediately runs at the lead, while Donchi has to give up his second place to Prioglio, after a few corners. Before the end of the lap, however, Bogunovic surprises everyone and takes the lead. The Slovenian driver remains at the lead until halfway through the race, when Zanetti manages to take again the lead. On the penultimate lap, Bogunovic is forced to slow down and abandon the race, allowing Zanetti to run straight to victory without any further problems. Prioglio and Donchi complete the podium. Reino and Lazzarotto finish in the top five, while Luongo is forced to stop on the second lap after a collision with Lazzarotto.

Shifter ROK

The Shifter ROK, the gearbox category of the ROK Cup, closes the ROK Cup Festival weekend.

The qualifying heats see an intense duel between Marco D'Elia and Marco Chiarello, with the former able to overcome with a time of 47.135 seconds, that is 0.046 seconds better than his rival. Matteo Mazzucchelli takes the third place, with Matteo Moni fourth and Valentino Rossi fifth. Tymoteusz Ksiadz and Alfio Messina follow in sixth and seventh place.

In the qualifying heats, Mazzucchelli takes the provisional lead, thanks to two wins in the first two heats and a third place in the last one. D'Elia wins the third heat but still drops to second place. Moni and Chiarello takes the third and fourth place respectively, while Rossi, Ksiadz, and Messina confirm the same positions they had achieved previously in the qualifyings.

In the final, D'Elia performs a better start than Mazzucchelli and takes the lead, while Chiarello immediately moves to third place. At the start of the fourth lap, however, a braking mistake forces D'Elia to give way to Mazzucchelli and Chiarello and then to stop his race. The fight for the victory is thus now reduced to the two new leaders: Chiarello shows a superior pace and tries to overtake on a couple of occasions, but without success. Mazzucchelli holds on until the finish line and takes the win ahead of Chiarello, with Moni not far behind, in third place. Rossi finishes fourth, followed by Ksiadz and Messina.
