ROK Talk Show: on-demand the special episode of the Superfinal
ROK Cup Superfinal | 30 Ott 2024
The great ROK Cup Superfinal 2024 show ends in great style with a special episode of the ROK Talk Show, the web program reserved to the “after-race” of the one-make by Vortex, aired last Thursday, October 24, at 9 p.m. on our Facebook page. This year's tenth episode reached a total of more than 46,000 people (survey of Oct. 28, 2024).
Lots of guests in the studio, set up just for this occasion at the South Garda Karting in Lonato del Garda (Italy), welcomed at the end of the awards ceremony by Luca Filippi, Sport Mediaset and Drive Up cooperator, as well as GP2 Series vice-champion and former IndyCar Series and Formula E driver.
Among the protagonists of the episode, we find Jay Kostecki, who said he has no specific preference for dry or wet track, as showed his victory in the final of the Mini ROK U10, run under the pouring rain. Giuseppe Noviello, on the other hand, celebrated his second place in the Mini ROK, a result that repaid him for his efforts during this year's ROK Cup Italy. A breathtaking success, on the other hand, the one conquered and told to our microphones by Melvin Kalousdian in the Junior ROK, after a certainly not happy qualifying (31st place for the Swedish driver).
Continuing with the highlights of the episode, big surprise for one of the protagonists of the Senior ROK, Samuele Di Filippo, who admitted that he never imagined to reach the podium, which he conquered, on the very final of Saturday afternoon. “Extreme” conditions in the decisive Expert ROK race, as confirmed by the words of champion Claudio Pagliarani:” It was particularly hard because the track was completely flooded. We raced in all conditions during the weekend, including a dry heat.” Guest in the studio is also Derek Wang, winner of the Expert ROK Plus: “I have always come close to the podium in the past years, so for me it is a great feeling to finally win the Superfinal.”
In the ROK Talk Show there was, of course, space for the story of the “special” category reserved to the ROK SVR engine, the great novelty of this ROK Cup Superfinal. An engine that gathered unanimous approval from the top three finishers in the final, all present in the studio: Davide Lombardo, Jacob Micallef and Simone Taccola. The talk show then continued with the Super ROK story, in the voice of, among others, one of the major protagonists, Aleksandar Bogunovic, second place in the final. The Slovenian driver, author of the pole position in the qualifyings, revealed how a strategic choice in the second heat, due to difficult track conditions, jeopardized his chances of victory. Grand final of the episode, then, with the Shifter ROK, won by Karol Pasiewicz who said, “I am very happy with the result, I honestly did not expect to be so fast.”
